  2. Enter today’s 24K gold rate and silver rate from your local market. In Pakistan use the sarafa rate per tola.
  3. Add your gold by weight and karat (24K, 22K, 21K or 18K) and your silver by weight. Add more gold items if you have jewellery of different karats.
  4. Fill in cash, bank and mobile wallet balances, business stock, money people owe you and investments.
  5. Enter the debts and bills you must pay now. The calculator subtracts them, checks the nisab and shows the exact zakat.

What is the nisab in 2026?

Nisab is the minimum wealth on which zakat becomes due. It is fixed by weight, so its money value changes with the market rate:

NisabIn tolaIn gramsWhen it is used
Gold7.5 tola87.48 gWhen you own only gold and no cash, silver or trade goods
Silver52.5 tola612.36 gWhen you own cash, silver, stock or a mix of assets (Hanafi rule)

To get today’s nisab in money, multiply the weight by today’s rate. The calculator does this for you and shows the nisab in the result table. If you follow a scholar who uses the gold nisab for everything, choose Always gold nisab in the settings.

What is included and what is not

Zakat kaise nikale? (Roman Urdu)

Aaj ka sone aur chandi ka rate per tola likhein, phir apna sona (tola aur karat), chandi, cash, bank balance, karobar ka maal aur jo qarz dena hai woh likhein. Calculator khud nisab check karta hai aur batata hai ke kitni zakat deni hai. Agar sirf sona hai (koi cash ya chandi nahi) to nisab 7.5 tola sona hai. Agar cash ya kuch aur bhi hai to nisab 52.5 tola chandi ki qeemat hai. Zakat kul maal ka 2.5% hai, yani har 1 lakh par 2,500 rupay.

Worked example

Ayesha has 4 tola of 22K gold, Rs 150,000 in the bank and Rs 30,000 cash, and owes Rs 20,000 in bills. Say 24K gold is Rs 400,000 per tola and silver Rs 5,000 per tola. Her gold is worth 4 × 400,000 × 22/24 = Rs 1,466,666.67. Total assets are Rs 1,646,666.67, minus Rs 20,000 debt = Rs 1,626,666.67. She has cash too, so the silver nisab applies: 52.5 × 5,000 = Rs 262,500. She is above it, so her zakat is 2.5% = Rs 40,666.67. Type these numbers above and you will get the same answer.

Frequently asked questions

How much is zakat?

Zakat is 2.5% of your net zakatable wealth, which is 1/40. For every 100,000 you pay 2,500, once your wealth is above the nisab for a full lunar year.

What is the nisab for zakat in tola?

The nisab is 7.5 tola of gold (87.48 g) or 52.5 tola of silver (612.36 g). Its value in money changes every day with the gold and silver rate.

Should I use the gold or the silver nisab?

In the Hanafi school, followed by most people in Pakistan and India, you use the gold nisab only if you own nothing but gold. If you also have cash, silver or trade goods, you use the silver nisab. The calculator applies this rule automatically.

Is zakat due on gold jewellery that I wear?

In the Hanafi school, yes: zakat is due on all gold and silver, including jewellery you wear. Some other schools exempt jewellery in normal use; you can leave it out if you follow that view.

How do I calculate zakat on 22K or 21K gold?

Choose the karat next to the weight. The calculator values it at the 24K rate times karat ÷ 24, so 22K is valued at 22/24 of the pure gold rate.

Can I deduct a loan before paying zakat?

Yes, deduct debts and bills you must pay now. For long-term loans such as a house or car loan, deduct only the installment that is due, not the whole loan.

Is zakat due on my house, car or salary?

No zakat is due on the house you live in, your car or household items. Salary is not zakat-able on its own, but any money you have saved from it counts as cash on your zakat date.

Is this zakat calculator accurate?

Yes. All sums are worked out to the exact paisa or cent, and the result is precisely 2.5% of your net wealth. The answer is only as accurate as the rates and amounts you enter, so use today’s local gold and silver rates.
