Clean up lists in seconds
Duplicate entries creep into every list: keywords exported from several tools, email addresses from different forms, product SKUs or URLs. This tool removes duplicate lines instantly and tells you how many it removed, while keeping the rest of your list in its original order.
How to remove duplicate lines
- Paste your list into the left box, one item per line.
- Choose your options. The cleaned list appears on the right as you type.
- Copy or download the result.
Options explained
- Trim spaces – ignores spaces at the start and end of each line, so “apple ” and “apple” count as the same.
- Ignore case – treats “Apple” and “apple” as duplicates. The first version found is kept.
- Remove empty lines – deletes blank lines.
- Sort – orders the result A → Z or Z → A. Numbers are sorted naturally, so 2 comes before 10.
- Also remove similar lines – removes lines that are almost the same, such as typos or small spelling differences (“colour chart” and “color chart”). Choose how close a match must be: 90%, 80% or 70%.
Popular uses
SEO specialists use it to merge keyword research from different tools. Marketers clean email and phone lists before importing them into a CRM. Developers deduplicate log lines, IDs and config values. To compare two versions of a list and see what changed, use text compare.
Example
Input:
london taxi
airport transfer
London Taxi
heathrow taxi
airport transfer
With Ignore case on, the result is:
london taxi
airport transfer
heathrow taxi
Two duplicates were removed, and the first version of each line was kept in its original position.
Exact vs. similar duplicates
By default, only lines that match exactly are removed. Real lists often contain near-duplicates, like typos (“recieve” vs “receive”) or small spelling differences (“colour” vs “color”). Switch on Also remove similar lines and choose how close a match must be. At 90% only tiny differences are merged; at 70% lines that are mostly the same are merged too. Check the result, since very short lines can look similar even when they mean different things.
Popular uses
- SEO keyword research: merge exports from several keyword tools into one clean list.
- Email and contact lists: remove repeated addresses before importing into a CRM or newsletter tool.
- Product data: clean SKUs, tags or categories.
- Developers: deduplicate log lines, IDs, URLs and environment values.
- Students and researchers: tidy reference lists and survey answers.
Tips for clean data
- Keep Trim spaces on. Invisible spaces at the end of lines are the most common reason duplicates are missed.
- Use Ignore case for keywords and emails, but not for case-sensitive data like passwords or codes.
- Sort A → Z to spot remaining near-duplicates by eye.
- Download the cleaned list as a .txt file, or copy it straight into Excel or Google Sheets.
Frequently asked questions
Does it keep the original order?
Yes. The first time each line appears is kept in place, unless you choose to sort the list.
Can it ignore capital letters?
Yes. Switch on "Ignore case" to treat lines like "London" and "london" as duplicates.
Why were no lines removed?
By default only lines that match exactly are removed. Lines with small differences, such as a typo, are kept. Tick "Also remove similar lines" to remove near-duplicates too.
How many lines can I paste?
Tens of thousands of lines work smoothly, because everything runs in your browser.
Is my data uploaded?
No. Your list is processed on your device and never sent to a server.
